Sorority Recruitment Dress Code
This round is for the schools that have sorority housing. Typically, the Panhellenic Council will provide PNM’s with a t-shirt to wear for this round. Pair this t-shirt with a cute pair of lace or patterned shorts. Don’t be afraid to stand out a little! If PHC doesn’t provide you with a t-shirt, wear a cute top with dark jeans or simple shorts. Avoid wearing anything that is too tight or cut too low—you are trying to make a good impression, save the scandalous outfits for parties and dates. . Wear something that you would wear if you were going out to dinner with your best friends. Keep the jewelry to a minimum—it can be distracting if you keep fiddling with your bracelets during conversation.
This is the second round for most schools, but for some schools this is the very first round. Regardless, keep in mind that each round gets dressier. For this round, wear something that you would wear to a family brunch. Wear a cute skirt or nice shorts with a dressier top. Some girls might wear wedges, but it’s still totally acceptable to wear sandals or flats to this round. You will probably be walking around a lot so wear comfortable shoes! Accessorize with a cute layered necklace and play up your makeup. Maybe try a cute pink lipstick shade!
Philanthropy Rounds are a lot nicer than the previous round(s). Dress as if you were going on a nice dinner date. This could be a pretty sundress with wedges, or maybe even a cute romper. Some schools prefer that you wear a business casual outfit; so if that applies to you, try wearing a blazer over a simple dress with heels. Add on a cute statement necklace, layered necklace, or a monogrammed necklace if you have one!
This is the dressiest round of recruitment! Dress as if you were attending a wedding or rehearsal dinner. Wear a classy dress with your nicest pair of heels. Make sure your hair and makeup look fresh and classy. If you have any pearl jewelry, now is your chance to break them out. Try to look very polished and put together—this is the last time that you’ll see the chapters before Bid Day and you’ll want to leave with a good impression.
Keep in mind that these outfits might vary depending on the school that you are rushing at! Your recruitment counselors are more than willing to help you pick the perfect outfits, so reach out to them if you have any concerns. Wear something that you feel comfortable in that still shows off your personality. Finally, don’t stress too much about what you are wearing; focus on your conversations and clicking with the house that you belong in! Good luck with recruitment!
